“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rabbi Astrachan! We hired him back in March, 2025, to tutor our daughter for her Bat Mitzvah. They met weekly by Zoom until her Bat Mitzvah in November, 2025. He prepared her in a way that never felt scary or overwhelming for her. From teaching her to chant her Torah portion, to helping her write her speech, to brainstorming ideas for a mitzvah project, he helped guide and encourage my daughter every step of the way.

After each lesson, he emailed me a detailed summary so I always knew my daughter’s progress. The biggest test was the day of the mitzvah…

Although Rabbi Astrachan had talked to my daughter about the possibility of things going wrong and trying to keep going and not get distracted, we were not prepared for our venue to lose power halfway through the service! Without missing a beat, Rabbi Astrachan whipped out his iPhone flashlight and he and my daughter completed the service in the dark!
